WHM 11.34.0 theme
Needs Review
Implement old theme in WHM 11.34, or adapt the current one with the following:
1. Smaller fonts, not grey because it hard to read
2. Lighter buttons with smaller fonts
3. Normal icons, current 11.34 are more for vending machines.
We have been receiving a lot of complaints from hosting clients, there are a lot of WHM users not happy with it. Something that you should consider because it is a pain to work with the current theme, specially if you spend most of the day working with WHM.
It's something that can be done overnight and all your customers will be happy.
I don't agree (but won't/can't vote against it because of the new limitation of number of votes :(),
1) Smaller fonts means it's harder to read. The fonts are not large, any smaller and they will become difficult to read. Lots of web sites try to go no less than 16pts for fonts, WHM fonts are less than 16pts so they should not be any smaller.
I don't think the buttons need to be lighter, the text is perfectly legable, maybe you've got a bad quality screen thats not showing the colours as they should be and not making so much difference between the two colors.
3) I don't see anything wron with the icons, are we looking at the same WHM 11.34 interface :D ?
I like the new interface alot and so do our customers.

For a $30 / month product, it's has a very poor design quality.

The $30 per month also includes support, and I don't agree about the design being poor quality. I find the 11.34 design to be a huge improvement.

I also think the new design is an improvement. It's quite obvious that
it's not designed by professional designers, but it's definitely not
worse than before. Even so, by now cPanel should have had the time to
make a really professional design. I hate, hate, hate Parallels, but
their Plesk Panel 10 design was way better than cPanels latest design
(Plesk Panel 11 is another story, but they did at least give you the
option to replace the Panel 11 design with the one from version 10).

Gentlemen,
please enable use the previous theme or a configuration setting for the style.
The current theme is not dynamic and has voids is bad on a 1280x720 resolution and does not offer a lightweight theme, but a theme very heavy.
Note to the new theme 0/10 = 1
Sincerely,
ARZ Sistemas

when they upgrade they should have a option for classic view . Hell even a multi billion company kept a classic view when they upgraded. I think their name was Microsoft but why follow the leader I guess. LOL
Do a google search lighter verse darker colors and darker colors are more preferred by people who WORK a lot on the web. But why go with the flow I guess make everything lighter and bigger. Now when I go to WHM on my 24 inch monitor I have to scroll down to see things I never had to scroll down before to see.
I say if people like the new design then cool for them but there should be an option to keep the past designs so we the PAYING customer has a choice. Instead of making the only choice now is to shop around for another type of whm/cpanel .
This was a forced change as I see it I had mine set at stable of one server and RELEASE on the other server and they both upgraded the same night to 11.34

Just to adding a comment.
Issue I have is that the larger icon size and min width mean that it's now impossible to do admin work from my mobile (HTC Sensation). Please rescale the icons or use a responsive media design that reduces their size for handheld devices.

I like the new layout. My only I guess gripe is that the large scrollbar side menu is still there. That's still 1997. Don't understand whats so ahrd about drop down menus. With a top navigation and responsive css. It would work pretty nicely for WHM, The colors and font-sizes are fine though. I think if anything with a better menu design they should make them bigger. :)

I just ordered another new server and didnt know I would be forced to use it as I have been using the original green theme for so long and its easy on the eyes. Really hate the new WHM theme. Who came up with the color scheme, its awful.

Maybe give a choice between the old theme and the new one. That way users can choose which one works best for them.

I can understand - new design must be much appreciated by tablet users with finger input. but for people doing their work on 1366x786 resolution huge margins and buttons seems to take a lot of the space on the screen and as result - make me scroll a lot, which is especially irritating on those screens, where I never did that before (and especially left-right scrolling!). I vote for an alternative downloadable/changeable theme - basically the same theme as we had before. I know the buttons I am looking for and I don't need a fancy look here - it's more technical thing.. it's like making your car enging "pink", just because your gf wears pink hat.

this square thing "we want to do what win 8 did" is quite beneath you, and i say it with allot of respect to cpanel.
you have your own thing going on , dont try to copy from others, to show advancment in versions

I do really believe that WHM is great, however this last theme change has undermined the efficience of the product. Having larger icons & text just for the sake of the looks whilst sacrificing the so much looked after commodity called "screen space" is not, and i repeat IS NOT an upgrade but a donwgrade. If i have to scroll twice as much to do the same thing.. is just like moving a CPR machine two miles further away just to make it look bigger & prettier. It just makes no sense and hinders ease of use of the product.

Not too concerned about the icons, but the issues for me
1) The colour of the link text for the navigation options, light grey on a white background is HARD TO READ. no matter how you try and argue its progress, sure it "looks" fancier but i dont want fancier, i want easy to read and the colour scheme right now is NOT. Go back to dark blue (classic link text colour) or Completely black navigation links.
2) The headings - Medium grey text on Light grey background? Seriously???? this is even harder to read than the nav items.3) not as important but everything is more spread out = more scrolling. i can live with it thought, but the colours need to be fixed.

A lot of space is unfortunately wasted on the new theme, which makes it harder for many of us to work with - but easier for people whom are confused by too much information (i.e. non-sysadmins)
Why not having the ability to switch the density of information, like in the recent Gmail theme? Users can choose:
Display density:
- Comfortable
- Cosy
- Compact
I also agree that light grey is not the easiest / most readable way to present information.
That being said, I feel it's also important to give kudos to the developers for making cPanel since a good product: Keep up the good work on it, and a few mistakes are normal along the way! :)

I prefer the 11.34 WHM skin with larger images and tabular alignment. My main interest is in seeing a similar treatment in cPanel. The new skin looks more professional and is easier to read than pre 11.34. This is even more important where customers interact with the cPanel interface than were we server admins live.

I am 63 years old with deteriorating eyesight. The new style is much worse than the 11.32 for my readability. This is true in general for sites and applications as web designers go for grays and low contrast. I don't get it. Just give us the option to change it. For those of you who love it, keep it. I personally think it sucks to high heaven. Tighter spacing means more on the screen. I don't use 1920px wide like some of you, and scrolling sucks.

the old theme was bad - too many items in the left menu and too much space wasted in the main panels but this one is even worse and difficult to read. Can't we have a pure text only theme with simple lists of items and the ability to hide all the items in the menu that are used only occasionally. The main menu only needs 6 to 12 items for day to day work, most of the rest are hardly ever used, but I guess with CP features are more important than usability

The new theme is HORRID compared to the new one. Old was clean simple intuitive and wasted little space. New is glitzy fluffy boxy wastes space is very non-intuitive. New one is great for a coder trying to impress people with all the gee-whiz code he can write. Old one is great for a coder who knows that real life every day use is much more important than looking cool and glitzy.

Nothing matter for me except the "SIDEBAR" and "Font-Size". It's ruined in new theme, ugly and can hurt your productivity all the way.
Of course there is an option to collapse all and then expand what you need, but it's childish. Sidebar on 11.32 was near perfect, or at least everyone was used to it since long and was comfortable with.
Note: I wish X4 brings the same usability and thinking to backend too.

I disagree, theme is completely OK for me, nice, fresh ... I now only waiting v4 for Cpanel.

I never liked the side bar either. Ever. Even the old one. like I said earlier it screams 1997 iframe websites ? anyone remember those?
I mean if you use bootstrap like someone else said, and just have a generic top left to right menu and multiple levels deep on hover. This would work perfectly. And for people using search and hotkeys great works fof them too. The fact the side bar menu is still even there is just kind of mind blowing. It's only 15 years out of date.
Also whats really annoying about the sidebar that makes it almost useless is it jumps from (Apache Configuration, and a rebuild ) to httpd restart. Now if you want to go back you gotta scroll. I don't know who's dumb idea was that.
I usually just Press Ctrl F and type in what I'm looking for using the browser search so I don't have to actually move my mouse. I guess I'll look into the hotkeys for now. :) The search works fine on it too, just im so used to using Ctrl+F when looking for something in an article or w/e. :P

It's about choice people. 11.34 lovers, we don't want to take away your crayon-ware style theme that looks good on a tablet. I want options to have a tighter, higher contrast appearance more like 11.32. Vote for choice, regardless of your personal preference.

I think there are a lot more features that cPanel should be working on than restyling the admin interface. It may not be the most asthetically pleasing interface, but I didn't like 11.32 either. No need for this, IMHO.

Why do you have to leave a comment if you "thumbs down"?
Other things are far more important than styling. Look at GoDaddy -- their UI styling is ugly, and a nightmare to use... they're still huge. IPv6, DNSSEC, alternatives to MySQL and Apache, SNI/wildard SSL support... these are things that actually improve our ability to host websites.

i think it is easier for customer, where the menu is on the left
with open/close menu points.
This structure should be:
MAIN
- User data
- Password
- ...DOMAINS
- Domains
- Subdomains
HOSTING
- MySQL Databases
- App Installer
- PHP Configuration (Uups, cpanel dont support changing php configuration)
- Directory...
-...
EMAIL
- Accounts
- Forwarder
- ...
TOOLS
- Virus scanner
- ....
I think for website beginner, the both cpanel themes (old and new)
are too difficult to understand. You must first study all points.
I think an option - single/extended view of features will be great

whm theme is over 10 years old, touch friendly support, mobile responsiveness and better icons/fonts are needed aswell as the ability to change color of the themes. choosing fontawesome icons and other things that help make it retina screen friendly. come on cPanel!
