Update imagemagick script to the latest version

Needs Feedback

Hello,

There were some major changes since the included 3rd party script in cPanel/WHM, and I would like to ask to update the version of imagemagick to the latest (currently 6.8.8-6).

Current Imagemagick's script version is from 2009-07-30 (version 6.5.4-7).

Thanks in advance.

cPanel no longer packages or distributes ImageMagick with cPanel & WHM as of cPanel & WHM 11.36. While we did leave the "script" in place, it no longer references any cPanel & WHM distributed version of ImageMagick. When you run /scripts/installimagemagick, it is quite literally leveraging your operating system's package installer and then installing the version provided by your distro. You will see a deprecation message displayed to this effect when you run this script. Therefore, there is nothing for cPanel to update here since we're not distributing it.

The version installed is dependent on your OS distribution.

Your options are to manually download and installed the RPM for the latest ImageMagick or otherwise appeal to your OS vendor (RHEL/CentOS) to have them distribute newer releases. The former would, of course, be much quicker.

Note: cPanel & WHM does, however, distribute an ImageMagick RPM to use with our own internal scripts/features. The version of this is 6.8.0-2 and it is stored in: /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty (Example binary: /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/convert) While this is not placed necessarily with the expectation of end users on the system utilizing it, it could be leveraged as such.
