Unified software version display page with links to their update mechanisms
Could not find a similar feature request. This feature will facilitate version control. Display at sidebar the Apache, PHP, MySQL, Firewall, Anti-Virus, CPHulk, mod_security versions (other features could be displayed too, according to what you may seem fit...). No need to click anywhere, just display them at the top of the sidebar (or as a home page) and evidence if each item is activated and-or updated according to each case. If not activated or updated, a clickable button takes the user to the page to activate-update. WHM users will have a clear overview of the server with a quick look, after each login into WHM. Control and security are enhanced.

All this information is already into WHM. I think it would not be so difficult to concentrate it into one place at the sidebar.

Adding this information into the WHM sidebar seems a bit cluttered and adding too much complexity to an already information dense interface.
However, I do agree that it would be potentially very useful to have a unified page within WHM that displays all versions of software that cPanel & WHM is responsible for or can be responsible for maintaining. You've already started some of that list with MySQL, PHP, and Apache.
You've also expanded it to include 3rd party software, which perhaps may be allowable through permitting WHM Plugins to specify themselves to be included on the unified software version page. I can see the value there, too.
I'd like to hear a lot more comments/input from others on this to hear just how it would be utilized by them and what feature(s) they'd like to see within this implementation.
This seems like a potentially complex, but useful, feature.

You are right about the sidebar cluttering. Perhaps then it would be better to display it as home page or above the present buttons at the home page. The present home page buttons could be smaller and free space in the home page.

I would call it WHM Control Panel: no need of fancy designs,just raw information: the name of the service and a red or green small button besides it. If red, we click in the name of the service and it takes us to the relevant WHM page where we can update and-or configure that particular service. If green,we do not loose time navigating to the relevant page. Login on WHM directs us to the WHM Control Panel page.

seems like there are no replies to your request of feeedback. However, as you well stated, this is a very useful feature. One quick look in the cPanel home page would give server administrators a full view of the server status, updates, installs, etc. This information is already in cPanel, but scattered along many menus and submenus. According to my experience, basically some of the features that could be displayed in the home page are:
1. Version control: Apache, PHP, MySQL, Firewall, Anti-Virus, CPHulk installed version. A green button if they are updated and a clickable red button that we can click to update if they are not updated.
2. Status of services: lists the services clamd, cpanellogd, cpsrvd, exim, ftpd, imap, named, queueprocd and with a green button if they are up, clickable red button if they are down. We click the red buttonto activate the respective service.
In this way, we turn the cPanel home page in a very useful general overview of the server status and services, instead of the present uninformative menu.
BAsically, all this information is already available somewhere in the cPanel right menu, but only after one or two clicks. I believe that displaying the information in the home page will perhaps not take too much coding. Not sure though. Once you update the home page with this new layout, for sure other cPanel users would suggest improvements in it.
