"Sysprep" for cloud instances, essential security

Needs Feedback

Hello,

Nowadays more and more installations are built from VM templates.

CPanel needs to be able to "sysprep" itself, reset SSL certs, access hashes, passwords etc so each and every new instance is "unique".

I'd welcome the addition of /scripts/cpsysprep that people could run from cloud-init/per-once.

This would likely be a feature considered very close in hand to the Clone Server feature request that already exists:

http://features.cpanel.net/responses/clone-a-cpanel-server-configuration-to-a-new-server-excluding-server-specific-items

However, I understand that what you're looking for here is just a subset of the functionality requested in the clone server feature. It is more likely that we will tackle the aforementioned feature request initially and then that would allow us to extract out the logic it is using for generating uniqueness for the server and make it standalone function/script/etc.

I've just been emailed saying the request needs Feedback. How can I do this?
