I have come across many articles that show we can install cPanel / WHM on Microsoft Azure platform - OpenLogic CentOS. I tried it myself and could turn CentOS into CloudLinux and install cPanel / WHM. Wouldn't it be great if cPanel officially extends its support to Microsoft Azure platform (running OpenLogic CentOS) as one of its supported virtual environments. This will allow us to run cPanel on Azure with confidence of cPanel's excellent support team!!!
Support for Azure Virtualization Platform
Open Discussion
With Microsoft Azure becoming widely popular, it would be good to see cPanel offer support for hosts who wish to use it as a basis for their hosting platform. It works well for most people which have got it working and would be good if cPanel were to support it moving forwards.
Microsoft Azure is really Hyper-V, which we already support. As long as you are installing cPanel & WHM on one of our supported distros, the product should already work on MS Azure. We last tested Azure earlier in the year with version 56, without discernible problems.

Cpanel on Azure will help elementary users a good starting learning ground. They will be free to use in depth commands for learning without fear of loss of data / damage to programs. They will able to learn Commands in a fast and reliable way, thus not in trouble when Server staff take them for a ride with NO support.

Support for Azure Virtualization Platform seems like a must to me. I am currently comparing Digital Ocean to other cloud providers. DO's server response times are good, but not the best. I feel like the MS Azure Cloud could be the best and would like to test the same.

I agree, it seems that it can already be done - official support would be a great next step. Thanks!

I don't understand if this scenario now is not working. I'm going to try the configuration with CentOS 6.7 and will let you know if it works. I wish it does.

seems this option not popular , maybe due to most cpanel hoster owns & prefer dedicated box ?

It should work without any problems, Azure use Open Logic instead of CentOS but its the same, and the repos are all the same. I use Azure for parts of my DNS network.

Last Two Years i was running Cloud Service in Azure, but the main problem is IP, they are using NAT based Virtual IP solution, so most of the time i am facing issues with Email, most of the email going spam.
so we have to find the solution for external smtp hosting with low cost

I'm confused by this suggestion.
I use Azure Cloud and have a cluster of Virtual Machines running CentOS 7 with cPanel.
The only thing I'll point out is there is a huge pain with multiple NIC and obvious limitations per VM.
@Murali Selvaraj: your solution might be Office365.

In collaboration with our remote sys admin guys, Touch Support, we recently attempted to get cPanel/WHM running on an Azure Linux VPS. But we've just given up. Why? No console access. Absolute showstopper in our opinions.

True, there's a "read-only" console view, and Microsoft say in the above thread that "we are working on enhancements that will enable secure bi-directional access to the console of the virtual machine". But until "normal" console access is provided, Azure as a platform for a Linux VPS is a no-go.
