Support custom IPv6->Ipv4 known proxies

Jason Brown shared this idea 4 years ago
Not Planned

As a systems administrator or hosting provider, I would like the ability to add custom ranges to the list of IPv6 IP addresses that forward to IPv4 via the API or an interface or both. This would benefit users (on servers with broken or disabled IPv6 support) that have domains that point to a reverse proxy (other than CloudFlare™) that proxies from IPv6 to IPv4.

Perl Module that supports this request:

/usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/KnownProxies.pm

Example existing proxy IP list:

/var/cpanel/etc/knownproxies/ipv6_that_forwards_to_ipv4_backend/cloudflare.ranges.json

As a systems administrator, I would like to add a custom list of known proxies to the existing ones to prevent issues with AutoSSL on servers with disabled IPv6 networking.

Howdy,

Thanks for the feedback! We are currently researching more ways to better improve ipv6 within the product. It's not currently on our roadmap, so I'm going to mark it not planned, but when we have more information on this we will come back here and update it.
