Show Hostname on Login Screen
Open Discussion
Hi,
This is a real easy feature request - I'd love for the WHM / cPanel login screen to show the HOSTNAME of the server (preferrably this should be made configurable whether we want to enable it).
Reason why we ask: we are experiencing routing issues, but when we go to hostname.ourcompany.be:2086, it obviously shows WHM login screen, but I'm not sure I'm on the correct server.
Would be nice if this could be added somehow. (perhaps just in the title?)
Just another use case in which this is interesting.
When a customer communicates us the domain name, we usually just navigate to https://DOMAINNAME:2087 to access its WHM. As all of our servers (for obvious reasons) have their own passwords, we first need to find out what server the domain name is hosted on before moving forward - would be great if it could be on the login screen there...

hi - any chance this might be added? Looks like a very easy and simple thing to do which can help us work a lot more efficiently to be honest :-)

Seriously guys.
Whenever an issue arises in tickets we communicate to you, your staff is instructing us to raise feature requests.
I understand that some features have more priority over others, but not reading a single response from cpanel staff after 3 years (even though we did have 3 upvotes on this, so even though it's only 3, it does show that I'm not the only one suffering from this...) is a bit annoying really. Why would I even bother raising ideas here.

It seems like this request shouldn't be too difficult, but I'm not deep enough in the code to know for sure. The first consideration that I can think of would be resellers, so it might be best if we made it configurable, rather than just on/off. I'm going to reach out internally and see if this can be looked at by one of the product teams. I'll let you know what I find out!

Great - yes, we would in fact also prefer it to be configurable, and as an addon just the subdomain of the host name (we name all our server serverXXX.ourcompany.com, so we only need serverXXX to be displayed)
The main reason still is that customers "forget" that, and often just give us their domain name; when we go to https://theirdomain.com:2087, it would really help if we have the hostname on there so we know what password to use ;-)
The request is a bit dated though as we're using cpanel account now, but that isn't that secure since it's only 1 account for all of our servers ;)
