Rework the cPanel theme

Mr. Anderson shared this idea 12 years ago
Completed

As a cPanel user, I want a rework the cPanel theme, so that the interface looks cleaner and easier to use.

Please follow web standards and improve user interface on your cPanel theme. You need to rework the current theme to something more modern, a web 2.0/html5/css3 design. Or at least tidy up your existing theme and make it easier for designers to redesign/rebrand the theme themselves to something which will suit their needs. Currently, your theme is a mess and making a new layout is painfully difficult.

cPanel & WHM version 11.42 will introduce our new cPanel theme, Paper Lantern. What we launch in 11.42 is just the beginning. More information will become available in the coming days and weeks.

Kenneth,

Still looks mundane and messy.

Please look here at my examples

Big changes are afoot? It's still the same 8 months later. WHM has finally been updated but cPanel is still the same old.

Even if it's just redesigning in bootstrap.. it really wouldn't take long

Everyone, if you're interested in seeing a reworked cpanel theme sooner, then please hit that thumbs-up/like/heart/+1 button on this feature request before pinging me for early access. The votes really help to add momentum to important features like this one!

Thanks for the preview :)

I love the idea of having a theme kit to build your own theme with.

I like the icons and I guess the presentation isn't finished yet so it's difficult to judge except that most of the bricks needed to customise the theme seem to be there.

yes, the presentation isn't set in stone yet. That may change in a big way in the near future as we standardize and make things way more consistent.

Nuno, Parth - I sent you an email directly with links to the preview. I've also worked with Ken to get the Official Answer to this feature request updated with a link for others to see the preview as well.

My main problem is that there is a lot of wasted space. Too much padding and whitespace everywhere. The three links at the top, Addon Domains, File Manager, and Email, should be customizable (drag and drop icons to top bar turning into links?) because that's not going to be everyone's most commonly used features.

I'm used to seeing smaller font sizes, the larger text makes the theme look clowny and thrown together. Format wise, I think cPanel front-end should look like WHM with categories and features in a sidebar.

Looks terrible.

I agree with Parth

" I think cPanel front-end should look like WHM with categories and features in a sidebar. "

The new design is not as impressive as I thought it'll be. IDK, I like how the current Whm looks and it'll be cool if cpanel turns into somewhat the same design.

Love the new papaer lantern design. Its crisp. But i am so used to to the old design - the new PL will take some time to adapt. Good work cPanel.

Thank you for your feedback. The X3 theme is in maintenance mode. While we will add new interfaces for new features, x3 itself is not under consideration for feature development. All user interface development is focused on Paper Lantern.

Please provide more information:

  • Which version of cPanel & WHM are you using?
  • What do you mean by "it will not load"?

Paper Lantern looks really good, but why isn't the login windows also Paper Lantern? :S
