Reliable and correct statics of remaining Email account disk space and better email account quota (disk space) system is something really required, The feature i am asking effects each whm/cpanel user and will be better understandable in last of this real world example, so will be There in end of this example, please read through to understand whole issue which is known to all whm/cpanel customers and is problematic. Lets take a real world example where total capacity (size) of cpanel account is = 10GB

And maximum number of allowed email accounts = 20 (for that

package),

A cpanel user creates a number of email accounts, lets say 10 email accounts of repectively :

  1. emailaccount1 = 2GB
  2. emailaccount2 = 2GB
  3. emailaccount3 = 2GB
  4. emailaccount4 = 2GB
  5. emailaccount5 = 2GB
  6. emailaccount6 = 2GB
  7. emailaccount7 = 2GB
  8. emailaccount8 = 2GB
  9. emailaccount9 = 2GB
  10. emailaccount10= 2GB

it means total = 20GB

Currently what happens is: 'Unreliable and Misleading inbox capacity’:

As we can see in above example, that a cpanel user can create up to 20 email accounts of 2GB or even unlimited space(if unlimited option is not disabled), for a cpanel account with total capacity of just 10 GB disk space, which is totally misleading and it becomes more

Problematic after some time when:

Say space used up for total web files, databases and other hosted files = 5GB

Total space used by above 10 email accounts= 4GB

So, total remaining space(of cpanel account) that can be used by all email accounts= 1GB,

while each email account holder sees some space or even unlimited space(if created an account with unlimited space quota) is remaining.

After sometime it gets to the worst case when remaining 1GB is also occupied, and email account holder don't even notice as still they sees that they have remaining space, but they face these bad things:

1. They suddenly start losing business correspondence completely = loss of money,

2. It is very bad and harmful for users, who are only purchasing account for professional emailing services/email hosting.

3. They still see remaining space in inbox,

4. They can't detect the problem easily,

5. Their important correspondence is interrupted unless they get higher disk space package.

So, default mailing quota system feels something like overselling of disk space in reseller account but here overselling is always allowed and can't be disallowed here, so the

Feature Required:

If whm users could get an option to allowed/disallowed such type overselling like situation for email accounts (for each package).

Than there would be 2 cases:

1. If allowed (for a package), that package will work as it currently it works in cpanel(some hosts may like to let users use unoccupied space from email for web-files, databases, etc.),

2. If disallowed(for a package), total remaining space for cpanel account will show:

10GB - sum of sizes of email accounts created

so, after making 5th email account as shown above(emailaccount5) there will be no space for cpnel user to do anything, so cpanel user will need to create email accounts with less space or will need to upgrade for more space. main benifts of this are:

1. Highly Reliable remaining email account disk space statics, so each email account user will get space as being shown to him.

2. User can trust on remaining inbox space and can do business correspondence without fear of any sudden interruption,

3. User don't have to stuck in a situation where he cannot receive urgent mail unless cPanel account is upgraded for more disk space Package,

4. Will be a more promising and reliable option for user buying account only for professional mailing, where suddenly losing business as losing Correspondence may cost user losing his business = money.

I like the idea of having the option of mailbox quota to be allocated immediately (taking away from available disk quota). But only if it is an option (presumably set as part of a Package)
