Refreshed Modern WHM / cPanel Design
Completed
The cPanel / WHM designs are extremely oudated, mundane and non-intuitive.
Please, once and for all do a 100% refresh. More clean, minimalistic and "flat" design.

There is no excuse or reason why cPanel cannot have a real nice design and better UI.

They are working on new theme, it would not look like on your suggestions but still it will be much better then current one. Problem is development is really slow they are still in alpha and most likely it will pass more then 1-2 years before this become stable ...

WHM/cPanel is always known for cluttered dumb ass themes and user interfaces, its just matter they are there in business since very long and only because lot of people hard to find better alternative for commercial grade deployment made them stay in market. Its not the case any more, if they still keep the same attitude towards clients, then they are fooling themselves.

Big changes are afoot. I think you'll like what we have in store.

IMO WHM needs a make over far more than cpanel. Use of space on right side and icon button size are awful. Every word in WHM should be searchable from the top left search dialogue.

You guys need all-new nicer, flat cleaner icons. Something like font awesome or other font icons, but colored.
Honestly though, my 3 examples from TWO years ago still outdo the concept design you have. Not to be a prick about it, it's just honest feedback. 2 years later, cPanel's design is still mundane and non-intuitive. Look how many people have complained. My 3 examples again, two years old and still far ahead in quality interface, color combo, layout.

It is the best of the three and it is great if you are using a hand held device. It sucks for most anyone who uses a real computer and works for a living! :)
Seriously that while flat UI thing is HORRIBLE on anything but a hand held device. It is so bulky and all objects are way too big, plus the whole flat UI makes it very hard to differentiate between anything on a page. It wastes so much screen space (that is going to be the nature of the beast in any page designed for a hand held when you use in on a computer). I really wish that the powers that be would not JUST design for handhelds and basically tell the people who use real computers "too bad we do not code for you any more". Sadly that is the way the web is going and IMHO it is not a very good path to take.

Adam I don't like the coming soon layout. Those long bars are unnecessary and a waste of space IMO.

Honestly I do not like ANYTHING about that layout at all.

1) Adam the retro in 11.52 is pretty close to the X3 style. I really think you should NOT delete it. That is the only style that s desktop (non-handheld) friendly. I understand that you guys want to make cPanel more table friendly but you should not kill desktop use in the process. This is the whole thing that killed Windows 8 remember...
2) If I clone all of the Retro code to a custom style, will it still work once you get rid of Retro?
3) PLEASE work on adding an option for server owners to enable/disable PL styles. Neither Basic nor Retro match my custom branding at all and they do not fit in the product mix of my custom styles. Can you please provide some feedback as to whetehr this is even being considered at all and if so what the status of it is?

I'd rather you stay away form the fluffy and glitzy bar/pie/whatever interface and stay with the clean simple and easy to use style of X3. Why in the world you would drop something that you posted on your own blog is "WILDLY POPULAR" is beyond me...

I am currently planning on focusing on updates to the WHM interface after we complete the deprecation schedule for X3. The first release without X3 is planned for v60 (see https://blog.cpanel.com/updated-deprecation-schedule-for-x3/ ) so the best estimate I can give you right now for a redux of WHM's interface is "after that."
We are currently working with a designer to refresh the antiquated icons found in the main WHM interface though. Expect that refresh shortly.

Adam just so I fully understand the process please verify the following. The last we were told is that those who have created custom x3 UIs will still be able to use them for as long as we wish with accounts that are currently set up with X3. Going forward we will not be able to create any new accounts with X3. Are both of these still valid and will they be as of v60?

At the moment, we're hoping to provide the means for you to be able to retain X3 indefinitely if you'd like to do that. For the record, looking at our current product plan, you'd be very silly to do this as we have a lot of exciting things in store (absolutely none of which will be backported to X3 after v60.)
Currently, we are doing preliminary research to create a build of cpanel which does not have X3 in it in order to understand how deep X3's tendrils go into the rest of the codebase. No results to report as of yet on that though.

Well that sounds a lot like a definite maybe! :) Any idea of when we will get a definitive answer to this?
BTW "silly" is a tad of a harsh (and quite ad hominen) thing to say as you have no idea of the wants and needs of my client base.

My apologies, @pczero. It's important that people understand that I don't condone using X3 after it's official deprecation and removal. It was not intended as an ad hominem; I'm very excited about the future of cPanel & WHM and I don't want anyone to miss out on that. Your situation is always going to be unique and I know you'll make the best decision based on all the facts at hand for your customers.

v58 just appeared on our EDGE tier this morning. It currently does not have the new stats sidebar in it so don't get confused if you install it and look for that. We're still addressing performance issues and making a few tweaks to it.
