After going through the forums I noticed that it has been "working on" for over 3 years now, and Rails 4 is about to come out. I have a webapp I want to host but I can't with this outdated Rails.

The EasyApache team is currently ramping up our research to provide Ruby/Rails/Passenger support. Part of this work involves determining which version of Ruby and Rails we will deliver first. Please read our Ruby Blog for information we are hoping to gather from the Ruby community: http://blog.cpanel.net/they-say-ruby-youre-like-a-dream/

Something that comes to mind is, is this in reference to Rails 3 + Mongrel or Rails 3 + mod_rails? This would be something very important to know as there would then be two completely different routes to go in.

How about using the passenger_module for apache? Just throwing out alternatives here.

We will be providing Rails 3 via Passenger (otherwise known as mod_rails).

How far is the work with Rails 3 support via Passenger?

Any update on the progress of this. Since Rails 4 is out now, it seems like this is definitely behind schedule. Is Rails 4 going to be supported now as well?

When? Any news on this?

Just give us TorqueBox support via JBoss as it is faster than Passenger:

Highly appreciated...

What do you think cPanel? When can we get it?

This has been in "development" for many years now. I wouldn't get your hopes up that this will ever make it into WHM.

PLEASE, let us know: what is it's status?

Rails 4 is out already, will this mean we would need another few years + 2 new versions to have it? May we have any update on this?

At Princeton University we are running cPanel for the students. One of our CS faculty recently commented on the fact that we are running a really really old version of Ruby 1.8 and asked us to update it. We would really appreciate it if the cPanel Ruby team would get their act in gear.
