Paper Lantern is well on its was to being a good UI, however it still
has a lot of weaknesses and features form the existing X3 that have been
omitted so far. This makes PL a big downgrade form X3. Please add
back the following item.
CUSTOM HEADER/REMOVE HEADER COMBO BOX - Please allow a custom header with the ability to remove the combo box
with the drop down to select the Change Password, Change Style, Contact
Information, and Reset Page Settings functions. Please add these
functions back to the main page so that hey are no longer hidden and
have to be hunted for.
Mod note: fixed typo
Is there any advance on this issue? It seems it would be one of the simpler fixes. Please advise.

We felt these options were better separated from the other apps inside the 'sea of icons' on the main page because they are settings for the cpanel account itself (rather than objects or sub-systems which influence things hosted by the account).
They are not gone, though. They have been relocated behind the username in the top navigation. We found that this is a very common practice among the most popular website on the internet (including facebook, twitter, google and many many others). After performing usability tests of our own, we found that this move does not impede users in successfully finding these options.
Here's what it looks like:
Additionally, in the upcoming 11.52 release, we have added a feature search on every page and made sure that these pages are returned in the search results.

I know EXACTLY what it looks like and where they are. My users are having a lot of trouble finding them though. There really was no need to hide them. Developers should NEVER code things to make them MORE COMPLICATED when clean simple and easy work just fine. I strongly encourage the team to restore the functionality back to the cleaner simpler unhidden way it was before you coded unnecessary complexity. The reason they should be back and the first section is because they are setting parameters for cPanel itself! At a minimum you should provide an option to have the interface in whichever my end users want it.
Respond please.
BTW using facebook as an example of doing anything is akin using Hitler as an example of human rights. Please stop changing things just so the team can say 'look at what we changed'. That is rarely a good reason to do anything.

In 11.52 the Preferences box is now hidden with a css rule so it can be shown by adding
#pref { display: unset;}
in your customizations

YEAH!
YEAH!
@PCZero - I'd like to close this feature request out as delivered since we've since shipped the preferences UI Group in a few versions of cPanel & WHM since your original request. Alright with you?
