Option to allow passwords with username in them

Not Planned

As a hosting provider, I would like to be able to allow passwords that contain the cPanel account username so that otherwise secure passwords are allowed for accounts that happen to have very short usernames.

====================

When changing an accounts password (even in the WHM) cPanel will not allow you to use a password with the account's username in it. I understand why this was put in place originally, however, if you create an account with a very sort username say 3 characters long it's not hard for your password to have those three characters in it. These days with the "Password Strength Configuration" section in the WHM the ability to set a week password doesn't really exist.

I'd either like to see an option to enable/disable this check in the "Password Strength Configuration" section or to just remove that check entirely.

Unfortunately, this is not something we would consider since it does allow for drastically reduced password strength. If that ever changes, we'll be back to let everyone know!
