Notify me when server has reached EOL and is no longer getting security update

"I propose when EOL is reached, that the server triggers a notification daily or at some interval."

If in the update preferences you select an LTS version, according to support (ticket 6855479) if that version reaches EOL, the server just stays on it silently and no notifications are sent out by the server. Then eventually if a critical security flaw is discovered in the version that you’re on, you might be vulnerable and the server get compromised.

Yes. The server should trigger notifications before and after reaching EOL, just to allow the sysadmin to be aware of the situation. The frequency should be daily to get enough urgency. The notification should not be able to be turned off before it is actually triggered for the first time, yet I think you shouldnt be able to turn off those alerts at all: just allow to postpone it X months instead, where X is a value in a dropdown selector with 1-3-6-9-12 months to choose from.
