New Account Creation for Already existing DNS Zones

Currently we are unable to create new account for already existing DNS Zones, due to which we are unable to provide access to customer for managing the DNS Records.

Some domains we created using DNS Function >> Add Zones method.

It will be great if we have a option to create new account for already existing DNS Zones(created via DNS Function >> Add Zones).

There are significant concerns with allowing this functionality that would need to be worked to. The most major of which is ensuring that the zone you're trying to attach a new account onto isn't already associated with another cPanel account.

Your use case presupposes that the zone you're attaching to has no existing account association, which would be a situation where this feature is viable and makes sense.

If the zone already had an association, allowing the account creation to go through would result in TWO cPanel accounts claiming ownership of a single zone and this wrecks havoc within cPanels' expectations of zone associations and account ownerships.

Would it be acceptable to only allow creation of an account for a domain that exists if NO existing accounts are associated with the domain?

I would also appreciate further commentary from other customers on any other use cases and concerns. This is potentially a very complex change to the product.

We've migrated about 2000 Domains to cpanel. After DNS migration we wanted to add accounts to those domains - which is not possible.

So beeing able to create accounts for domains which have no other account associated would be more than nice . . . all possible workaround which we currently use are horrible.

Interesting I had the EXACT same problem, we ended up using a massive number of API calls to park domains to accounts, the only problem we have is if a customer chooses to split a domain from one account to its own
