MySQL 5.6 Support ETA
Completed
MySQL 5.6 has been available as a release candidate since September 2012.
Oracle has promised a "production-ready product release in early 2013" (their words).
I would like to hear a formal announcement regarding Cpanel and MySQL 5.6 implementation, even if the ETA is many months away and tethered to Oracle's gold release date.
This would demonstrate Cpanel being proactive instead of reactive.

MySQL 5.6 is in the 11.42 version of cPanel & WHM.

I'm waiting for this myself. 5.6 has finally been released as a general release for MySQL. Would be nice of cPanel added it... I know Direct Admin is adding it.

InnoDB fulltext search will enable us to finally have a fully ACID compliant database and consign out use of MyISAM to history. We're also very keen to use the new replication features - too many times a cPanel update to MySQL has caused us replication problems as it uses OUR MySQL master for its own purposes. The internal workings of cPanel should be kept in a MySQL host under its control and leave user MySQL hosts under user control. This then lends itself to running multiple instances of MySQL on the same host, and if cPanel code needs to stay on an old version of MySQL that's fine, but let us users advance to newer versions more quickly.

Waiting for a long time MySQL 5.6 support on cPanel. InnoDB fulltext search is gonna save us :)

I believe, a lot of people from PHP-MySQL community and personally I was waiting for FullText Search support on InnoDB engine. Within this feature, there is no more excuse to wait for us to move on InnoDB on MySQL. This will make us to write more professional PHP-MySQL based software platforms.

6 months+? Time to start jumping ship perhaps and run MySQL under a cPanel free hosting environment. cPanel should be a regular MySQL beta tester so that they're on the ball and ready to go when GA releases are available. MySQL 5.6 offers huge benefits if the change log is to be believed when it comes to replication

With reading how significant of an upgrade this is, especially being way more powerful, i'd love to have this updated in cpanel, even if i had to pay!

make my box getting hanged .. takes almost 20-40 seconds to complete each query processing ..
So at last decided to use Fulltext Search with InnoDB ..
But the problem is InnoDB Full-Text Search is in MySQL 5.6.4 or above versions ..
So i need it urgently..!

5.7 is on its way (5.7.2 m12) and 5.6 reached 5.6.14 already.

Got my email from Oracle today highlighting how much faster 5.7 is than 5.6, particularly with temporary tables. I wonder whether many of us will have retired or died from old age by the time cPanel give us 5.6, let alone 5.7? THE most used database for websites and it's getting no attention from cPanel whatsoever. LAMP is in danger of becoming LA?P

This really needs to happen. They are now onto 5.7 and it's even faster than 5.6 (which is perfectly stable), and supports full text, which without limits a lot of possibilities. If it is not available soon I will simply switch to DirectAdmin instead as they've had it for some time now. cPanel needs to get this going.
