Would it be possible to have the same option for mysql versions as you have for the select php version?

This very important! Once you upgrade to certain version of Mysql, you cannot go back when you don't satisfy.

On a server some clients might have old code, and we don't want to retest everything just because other users need to upgrade mySQL.

On the other hand, new clients need to be on a more recent version of mySQL for the min. requirements of certain CMS.

We need a way for cPanel to support choosing which version of mySQl for a specific account. And be able to run multiple mySQL databases.

Thanks for looking into this.

I second this as there are some legacy web apps that my clients are running that cannot accept a more recent mysql version but of course I still have to support these more recent mysql versions since it's the standard now. Please mention here if there's a way to do this or an alternative??? Would like this feature.

For us this would be something very important, fundamental, since several client accounts have systems that do not support mysql 8 and possibly will not do so in the future, having to use mysql 5.7 permanently, but receiving security updates until the End of life of v5.7 in October 2023. It affects the rest of the accounts with updated scripts that should use 8 and are losing the performance improvements and others of this latest version.

Being able to have MySQL 5.7 and MySQL 8 running on the same server would be very important and beneficial, since it is an important requirement for many new clients, but currently impossible to offer, at least on the same server.

Totally agree this would be awesome! I also have users that have legacy projects and are holding back other users on the same server.
