Listen to 2 IPs for one domain

Need More Information

As a systems administrator, I would like the ability to have Apache listen to 2 IP addresses for a single domain so that when moving a site from one IP to another, it lessens downtime for slow DNS-refreshing ISPs.

We need the option in cPanel for Apache to listen to 2 IPs for a single domain.

This is very relevant when moving a site from one IP to another IP and not experiencing downtime for slow DNS-refreshing ISPs.

Thanks for the feedback! Wonder if I can get a bit more information. Are you moving from one server to another? Or just changing the IP address on the same server?

This makes sense for changing the IP address on the same server.

Changing an accounts IP should not cause downtime and currently causes downtime for the duration of the DNS zone’s TTL and can cause even more downtime if a customer doesn’t manage his dns zone on our cPanel DNS cluster.

Allowing two IPs for a vhost would resolve this issue.
