IPv6 in SPF records by default
Open Discussion
Currently only mx a and ipv4 addresses are added to the SPF record by default.
For emailing to gmail, outlook and major mail services a good SPF record is required. We provide VPSes with IPv6 and the system always chooses to mail through ipv6 before ipv4, however by default the ipv6 address is not added to the SPF record. This creates alot of email issues for customers who are unaware of this problem.
In WHM there is no way to edit the SPF record or enable IPv6 for this.
I would like to request to add the ipv6 address to the SPF record, either that or allow us to edit the SPF record templates so we can add this in ourselves.
I can't believe we are asking for this, it should have been implemented automatically.
Yes we need this added like this
v=spf1 +a +mx +ip4:188.xxx.xxx.xx +ip6:2a03:xxx -all
