Incremental Backup in Remote Cloud Storage Locations
Open Discussion
As a System Administrator, I would like to add Incremental Backup feature to already available remote destinations like G Drive, S3, Backblaze B2 etc.
Incremental Backup will significantly reduce server resource usages and bandwidth during the backup and transport job.
I suggest you take a look at rclone, to officially include it as a backup system (like rsync) as it supports most of the cloud storage that exists. That way it would be easier, faster to do all this and there would be no duplication of work.

A while ago I posted on the cPanel forums asking for help for our company's large backups. The backups were 800 GB and taking up to 14 hours to complete. cPanel via the forums, recommended that I changed over to incremental backups. The backup times were reduced from 14 hours to 1.5 hours. We had to forgo cloud based backups exposing us to very high risk. Then we to settle for local storage at a very high cost.
In my opinion cPanel not having rsync available for cloud based backups is an unfortunate example of a company punishing their larger clients. I can't do daily full backups of 800GB to the cloud. In can however do incremental backups to the cloud. Please give your larger customer a better solution and perhaps stop recommending using incremental backups until there is a better solution.
