Hide user section unless password protection is set

It's not uncommon for users to go to the password protection option, select a folder, fill out both the grey and the white sections, and then click "add/modify authorized user" button, thinking that they're saving both sections. I've done it myself when I'm in a hurry.

I would like to suggest that the bottom section allow users to be manipulated be hidden unless the directory is indeed password protected. This will force users to click "save" before they move on to the users section and eliminate some confusion.

This page...and many pages like it...will be seeing a redesign in the near future as a part of the UI Modernization push for Paper Lantern. I'll keep this in mind when we address this page.

Agreed. I've seen this last week under a client's account. His Joomla was brute forced and he thought that a folder password protection was active.

Should be easy to implement. Possibly just a few lines of jQuery.

Voted for this too.

And while you are at it, why not also allow to protect files and not just folders...

@monarobase - Protecting individual files would be best as a separate feature request...good idea though

Yes, I was expecting you to say that :)

I've just created a new feature request.
