Error Log featire not working as expected

The "Error Log" icon in cpanel fails to parse the /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log file correctly - period!

Ticket 4201923 shows the issue in full, but briefly, cPanel skips most of the error_log file, and unless something from the particular cpanel account appears in the last few lines of the log, then it doesn't appear. This is utterly useless on a busy server. Even a relatively small error_log file of less than 100Mb is not parsed correctly for a user's errors.

To prevent information disclosure, we limit scanning of the Apache error log to:

1. Entries that contain the user's home directory (e.g. /home/cpanelkenneth)

2. Entries that contain an exact match of the user name

In addition the line must specifically mention the word 'error'.

This feature would primarily benefit by each domain having its own Apache error log. That would allow use of the entire log for display, without risk of information disclosure.

I can understand that, but in the case I raised, these tests were all affirmative and the cpanel Error Log function still failed to return those records.
