Drop Open Sans in WHM and cPanel in Favor of System Fonts

I, as a sysadmin, love to optimize and improve everything that may be improved. And by this request, if you drop the usage of Open Sans font in the cPanel screens in favor of native system fonts, the load time of each and every screen of the UI will improve.

This is a trend in popular widespread products like WordPress, which have discovered that using system fonts, native to whatever the OS of the user is, the speed of the UI improves and hence the end user experience is a bit better.

So I mocked this change up and created https://usabilityhub.com/do/7e50394f766b/b5a5 for people to vote on which fonts they prefer. The screenshot was made on a Mac OSX El Capitan machine, so you're seeing 'San Francisco' as the system font here.

I'll let this poll accrue votes and then put a link to the results in a future comment so that everyone can see them

Adam, hi. Look, The new layout with the right sidebar is nice, but the samples you offered does not allow to make a good choice. You should post a zoomed section of those screens with cPanel font and with native OS font because as a sketch, you simply cannot do a right election. In my 21" screen both images looked the same to me. Was that a trick?

No. Seriously. Post zoomed versions where you can appreciate if there is any difference between Open Sans and native OS fonts. Basically, you should zoom-in the same parts of the screen using different OS's to show if there are hard differences between them.

Hope you can consider it and update it.

To be fair, users have the ability to tweak their own system fonts. What you have chosen for your browser won't be what I may have chosen, and I may have different hinting settings etc. I looked at the test, but it seemed to vague for this feature request.

Not many users will tweak their system fonts, the main differnces will be from one OS to another. with the approach of using system fonts, you need to have the best font on each system. A default OSX, a default Linux and a default Windows will all have differnt fonts and the fonts will seem slightly different as Windows modifies fonts to make them fit the pixels whereas MacOS simulates half pixel lines to avoid modifying fonts.
