DKIM for Hostname

Enable the setting of domainkeys, spf or DKIM for hostname to prevent issues with mail providers blocking bulk email from non-signed senders.


We have recently been blocked by google and yahoo due to the root emails sent from the hostname not being signed with DKIM.

With cPanel & WHM Version 78 you can now manage this and much more related to your hostname in WHM »Email »Email Deliverability. Take a look at the overview of all features for Version 78 on the Release Site and see the full release notes on our documentation site.

I would like to see this as a feature, we send out a newsletter with phplist and it uses the hostname when sending. I've setup an SPF record for it in the DNS but there seems to be no way to add DKIM for the hostname.

There are a couple ways to add a DKIM record for the hostname. One is to create a second zone and follow the instructions at https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/dkim-for-main-server-hostname.476181/


Or, you could do what I did (which involves a little extra work, but allows you to keep just one main zone, instead of creating a second zone, for the hostname): https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/problems-with-dmarc-and-e-mails-from-cpanel.603355/#post-2443903

root e-mails should always be sent to an account with no filtering. Gmail, hotmail etc should't be used for sysadmin related emails as you can't disable their antispam features.

Server sends Quota and Bandwidth email warnings to users. Plugins like Softaculous also sends updates, credentials etc. Signing up to a service like Microsoft's postmaster because users complaining they don't get emails (postmaster.live.com) and watching reports, I got failures and warnings about messages going to spam because of dkim, spf, and dmarc records failing. dmarc and spf is kinda easy. Dkim is a pain for servers' hostnames. Eventually servers are blacklisted because of this. Irony but yes, it happens.
