Display and allow IDN domains in lists and forms, not punnycode

Resubmitting my request from achieve

cPanel supports IDN domains and that's great!

but:

1. I cannot use idn domain name in any form - it should be converted to punnycode first.

Would be nice if cPanel could convert idn domains to punnycode automatically and save our time

2. idn domains are displayed as punnycode and in some cases it makes almost impossible to guess the original idn domain.

Would be nice if idn domains in the lists could be displayed as original idn domains

for example, I have a few parked domains like 'xn----htbdnodicd.xn--p1ai'

I cannnot believe this is not implemented. Please do it ASAP. People should no have to do anything with punycode.

Any news on this?

Unfortunately not to my knowledge.

I have also a couple of requests open regarding lack of IDN support in general..

Hey all! So sorry, this one slipped under my radar. I'm going to bring this up to our development team and see if there's been any discussion of it thus far, and see what we might do going forward. I'll let you know what I find out!

Did you found out anything?

This situation causes a lot of problems with clients that are not technical but own an IDN domain. And I think no one want to see Punycode as default. Do you understand the importance of this?

Our next planning session isn't until late this month, but I'll be back as soon as I have an update on it!

Hi Manuki,

It should be understood cPanel does not display the domain in IDN, it works (Apache) if you introduce it in ACE/Punycode format!

To do this, you can go to http://converter-idn.com/ and simply enter the domain starting with xn- during the Create Account.

Best regards,

Quentin

PH-Quentin, please read the feature request. It's about displaying it IDN form instead of Punycode. A user should be able to use IDN format instead of Punycode. Punycode could shown in parenthesis beside the IDN format. Everybody knows how to use a converter and most programming languages like PHP have idn conversin functions included by default. This should be an easy fix for cPanel.

Hello.

What is happening with the support of IDN names of domains and e-mail addresses?

It is a needed function.

How are plans for implementing showing and setting up in form punycode in UTF-8 format?
