Disabling PHP for an account or reseller

Currently, there is no way to disable PHP on a per-account basis. Not all websites need PHP and some web hosting providers may even want to have a very low tier of web hosting where CGI and PHP are both disabled.

There should be a way to disable PHP (just like there is to disable CGI) on a per-account basis. Furthermore, it would be appreciated if PHP could be disabled per-reseller as well.

For extra certainty that PHP is disabled, both methods of disabling PHP will be used.

This will all be accomplished via cPanel-generated include files for EasyApache. This system currently accommodates per-user and per-reseller include files. Also, these directives cannot be overridden by a user's .htaccess file so there is no fear of a user simply bypassing this setting even if they are intimately familiar with Apache.

This will actually be possible with EasyApache 4. We've enabled ways to disable PHP on a per domain basis or a server-wide basis. We're planning to release a Tech Preview of EasyApache4 in 11.50.

I really like this idea, this is similar to another feature request about changing settings per user for PHP that cannot be overridden in order to allow different options for different hosting plans.

this would take it one step further in allowing us to have a really basic plan (Free?) and if a user needs more then can then upgrade to the next tier. and so on

Any news on this?

Just voted for this one too. Would like to have an easy way to disable PHP for a package so we could sell HTML only plans. This would mean using much less CPU as there would be no PHP or MySQL to run…

Hello,

I wanted to offer no PHP features and have this same question. I am using EasyApache4 on my server, how can I create PHPless accounts? My original forum thread

Hey everyone! Unfortunately it looks like this specific feature wasn't included when we rebuilt the spec for EasyApache 4 last year. I've pointed this request out to the EasyApache team, and it's again on their radar. However, since it's not yet available and not yet aimed for a specific version, I'm going to move this request back to 'Open Discussion'. If you have any further feedback or need anything else from me, just let me know!

CPanel/WHM providing a lot of other site software languages, for example RoR, Node.ja, perl.

Such sites not need php.

Please release this feature ASAP.
