Hello,

When you create an account in Thunderbird or Outlook the autoconfig.domain.com configures the Host Name of Server instead of the standard mail.domainclient.com.

IMAP, server01.domain.com, SSL

SMTP, server01.domain.com, SSL

Ideally it

IMAP, mail.clientdomain.com, SSL

SMTP, mail.clientdomain.com, SSL

The vast majority of servers use the standard:

mail.domain.com

pop3.domain.com

imap.domain.com

smtp.domain.com

And it gives you the opportunity to choose between IMAP or POP3

This is very important for customers without experience and facilitate migration.

Regards.

This is MUST BE feature in cPanel.

It will solve e-mail migration problems from one server to another.

This feature will only work when the SSL on all services feature is available, and the Customer has install an ssl cert for mail.theirdomain.tld

I agree though then when both of these are true it should be changed automaticaly to mail.domain.tld with ssl

This is an important issue. cause i'm the owner of a web design company. It reveals the details of my hosting provider to my clients. Like this:

IMAP, server01.myhostingprovider.com, SSL

SMTP, server01.myhostingprovider.com, SSL

Is there any progress on this request?

Same as Giannis, with this configuration of autoconfig, all the details are revealed.
