Brotli support in EasyApache 4

As a server administrator I would like cPanel to support Brotli compression in EasyApache 4 because it is more efficient than existing methods (eg. gzip) for certain kinds of data.

Good news everyone! Brotli Support was added in February, which you can see in the changelog for EasyApache 4. We have some documentation around it as well: https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/EA4/Apache+Module%3A+Brotli

We also already have a feature request for it, asking to allow Brotli configuration more granularly.

Google is pushing for us to move our sites to https. I did that and immediately lost gzip compression. Support for brotli would be great.

Why did you lost gzip compression? You can still use mod_deflate in Apache to send compressed content in HTTPS.

KeyCDN announced brotli support a couple of days ago. The only catch is your server has to support brotli. I see this is still in open discussion. any chance this will be implemented in the near future?

There's no plan for this feature at this time, but if that changes at all we'll definitely update it here. Definitely keep posting if you encounter more services that you'd like to integrate, that require Brotli support!

I also want this to be available.

As keycdn, cloudflare and my cdn77 have it available.

Google has developed a module for nginx already, however apache only has a module in trunk (2.5).

There is a github project for brotli_module which seems promising. Could you add it to EA4 experimental at least for testing?
