As a server administrator I would like the cPanel login_log to include successful authentications

As a server administrator I would like the cPanel login_log to include successful authentications, so that I may clearly see failed, deferred, and successful log-in accesses in the same centralized log location.

Reference file path

  1. /usr/local/cpanel/logs/login_log

Examples of existing log entries include:

  • ... DEFERRED LOGIN ...
  • ... FAILED LOGIN ...

I would like the above to include successful authentications, perhaps using the following keywords:

  • ... SUCCESSFUL LOGIN ...

I believe the new entries should still include the same common information as the existing failed and deferred log-in entries, like the IP address, username, date and time stamps, request method, and service name, e.g., cpaneld, whostmgrd, webmaild, cpdavd, etc.

This feature request appears to duplicate another request, as follows, which was recently implemented in case CPANEL-5610 (Add ability to log successful logins) and is available in version 58.

Log when an account is accessed with a root/reseller password
