Allow configuration backups when backing up to remote FTP server
Completed
As a Server Administrator, I want to allow configuration backups when backing up to remote FTP server, so that if my server fails, I have remote backups to restore from.
My request is to allow configuration backups when backing up to a remote FTP server as well so that if a server fails you have the configuration files to properly configure everything outside of the site backups (ie. dns zones control panel settings etc).
This is a feature that has been migrated over from the cPanel Forums. All previous comments and discussions concerning this feature can be located at:
As of 11.46, this is possible to do for each remote destination.

I second that.
I should also be combined with the feature request:
"Ability to backup my data over sftp"

so that files are not send over unencrypted FTP.

The capability to include config files in remote backups will be delivered in cPanel & WHM 11.38.

Did this go ahead as it's still marked as planned rather than released.

Hi! Any news on this one? Any ETA?

Hi, this is planned, but no progress here?
Definitely still not in 11.40
We URGENTLY need backups that we can rely on!
1/ backups get disabled after 4 connection failures; I want to be able to say it should NEVER be disabled. It's not because our network has an issue one night, backups should not be running again the day after
2/ we need to be sure that the MySQL Datafiles directory is copied remotely as well! They are now only backed up locally, and only accounts are being transported to the remote location, but guess what: when you have a corrupt MySQL database table, it's not correctly dumped in mysqldump, and you'll end up with an account backup that does not include the database... This is a CRUCIAL item which should also be added to this feature request.
Thank you!

Does this be in 11.42???
When is 11.42 available anyone knows? Because if S3 Amazon will be in 11.42, and remote incremental backup will be there? if all will be there then this one should be there too, this is to important to have.
Best Regards

My apologies on the silence here. We added the ability to send the system backup to remote destinations in version 11.38. It required a manually configuration change, per remote destination.
In version 11.46 this is not an option in the GUI. Each Remote Destination can be configured to receive the system backups.

As of 11.46, this is possible to do for each remote destination.
