Allow users to require http to https redirection on their site and/or addon domains

There should be an option somewhere in the cPanel UI that will enable automatic redirection/rewriting from http to https.


It should be able to be enabled/disabled for the main site, as well as any addon or sub domains.


Currently you can do this via .htaccess or by modifying the vhosts, but a nice UI option would make it a lot simpler.

This is great. Looking very much forward to it.

It may be easier for end users to have it named "Redirect to https" though since "Secure Redirect" may not mean much to them and there is also no indicator what will actually happen when it's turned on for them to know.

Maybe change "Secure Redirect" to "Redirect HTTP to HTTPS"?

Will the implementation take into account paths? So, http://example.org/path/to/page will be redirected to https://example.org/path/to/page and NOT just to https://example.org

Can this also be managed via WHM?

Ideally we would really appreciate the ability to deploy HTTPS redirects across all of our managed accounts by default, with exceptions being made per-user. Basically the opposite of the UX being presented above.

How about the HSTS-policy? will that be implemented in this? Because in The Netherlands we have a website internet.nl that website owners can use to test website security. This site checks hsts. A lot of Dutch customers use this website and want a 100% score.

HSTS isn't part of the feature at this point, just the redirect. That might be something we consider in the future, though!
