Add Apache Log File Viewer In WHM Control Panel
Needs Feedback
At the moment if a users needs to view the apache log files they have to do it via SSH or navigate to it through ftp and download it. Would it not be a better idea to add a log file viewer direct into the WHM control panel? This would greatly speed up fault finding and also help new users who might be unsure or nervous about using SSH?

For day to day checking of logs, a built in log viewer in my opinion, would be really nice. It actually *is* very nice, I've got two 3rd party log viewers installed.

For day to day checking of logs, a built in log viewer in my opinion, would be really nice. It actually *is* very nice, I've got two 3rd party log viewers installed.
I understand that the request is with the intent of speeding the process of investigation up. However, the actual process of reading in such a variable size log and displaying its output into a browser may actually slow your investigation down or be rendered unusable in a investigative situation.
There is inherent overhead with displaying large logs through a browser, and the Apache log could be anywhere from a few kilobytes to several gigabytes depending on the traffic and log rotation configuration of the server. This could mean that WHM would appear to "lock up" for several minutes at best in such situation and only result in frustration. If the server is at a high load already, it may never complete in any reasonable time.
As a long time user of cPanel & WHM myself, I would personally see no value in this and it would potentially only add clutter to WHM. If I'm looking in the Apache log, I'm almost always using some sort of manipulation with the log output to significantly reduce the impact of working with a large log (grep, tail, and so on) and target only the data I need. It is rare that I actually want/need to review more than a dozen lines at a time.
However, I would like to open this up for feedback and further discussion to see if others think this adds value and what log(s) they feel this would be useful for.
