Ability to create SPF (type 99) records
Completed
We would like the ability to add/edit/auto-create SPF (type 99) DNS records. This was fully supported by BIND (version 9.4) in 2007.
Currently the only way to add these records for our clients is to edit the zone file manually.
Also, adding a SPF type record to the zone file breaks the WHM "Edit DNS Zone" tool (it just displays a blank page and no zone info at all).
RFC 4408 is made obsolete by RFC 7208. The new RFC specifically instructs SPF records to be created as TXT records.
See section 3 in http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7208

Hello,
I wanted to point out that, for various reasons explained in RFC 6686, the SPF RRTYPE appears to be headed for obsolescence in the forthcoming update to SPF.
Yes, it would have been nice to have a separate RRTYPE, but at least for SPF, TXT records seem to be the way the IETF is going.
