Non-command line customization of Jupiter

Transitioned to Case

I've seen the documentation for "customizing" Jupiter - https://api.docs.cpanel.net/guides/guide-to-cpanel-interface-customization-and-branding-in-the-jupiter-theme

However, will there be something available directly within WHM to allow for customization? Instead of having to use the command line? It would make sense for the options to live under "Customization" in the WHM where there's currently a few fields.

I'm also a bit frustrated at the limitations in this theme in the way of customizing. For software that has gotten exponentially more expensive, it doesn't feel like it's increasing it's value.

There is indeed something available directly within WHM for customizing the end-user interface. You can find it under WHM » Home » cPanel » Customizations

HOWEVER, your feature request here made us realize that we need to do a better job of talking about this UI and encouraging its use in situations where the API may not be appropriate.

I was aware of that page, but it's difficult to feel that it's really customization. Changing the color and the logo isn't a lot to work with. Plus there's limitations - what color is considered a "dark" background vs light? When I added my color and logos, it didn't work as expected and showed the dark logo with my darker color. (Colors don't lump specifically into dark and light, there's so much middle ground.) One thing I really disklike are the icons. The style feels at odds with the layout, though I'm not sure how to best explain it. They're not professional looking icons. The paper lantern ones might not be the best out there, but I like them better than these new ones. Being able to change out the icons would vastly improve my mood about the change. But I also miss things that paper lantern let me do like adding a background image behind the main content section.

I realized I didn't explain what happened when I marked this Transitioned to Case: I've got a bug case in front of our documentation team (DOC-17995) to get the WHM UI documented and linked heavily from this original interface.

Thank you for the clarification... though I'll likely remain grumpy about all of it until we're able to make more actual customization. The thing that would win me over, is a full WHM based UI way of making modifications at the level I was able to do with Paper Lantern by editing code. I found customizing Paper Lantern to be an involved process, but was at least able to do pretty much what I wanted. So with Jupiter it feels like a huge step backward for me.

This includes a question about adding an icon and link to the tools page. With Paper Lantern I was able to add in an icon and link to my domain store (external). Can I do that with Jupiter?
