We already provide Xcache. Is this a request to update to the latest version?

yes

We tested 3.0.1 and ran into problems with PHP randomly crashing. Due to lack of time to debug we reverted to xcache 2.x to solve the issues.

Xcache 3.0.1 would need to be fully tested with PHP fcgid + Suexec + Ioncube loader before being released by cPanel.

OK, so it will be on the do list?

As according to the author at least : ""improve support for PHP_5_4 " "lots of improvements" "improve stability"

The functionality that we look forward to with version 3 of xcache is the ability to specify to use namespaces for the variable cache.

We tested 3.0.1, the namespaces worked but we had alot of crashes with both PHP + Suexec + fcgid + Apache and fewer crashes with Litespeed + PHP LSAPI Suexec.

Due to lack of time to debug we went back to xache 2 and deactivated variable cache.

We would love to be able to get this working with xcache 3 so hopefully version 3.0.2 or higher will be out soon and might fix the issues we had.

That's useful information. Thank you for sharing. Was the stability of version 3 improved by not using namespaces (if that is even possible)?

I'm afraid we did not think of testing without variables with version 3 before switching back to version 2.

The reason for giving up so quickly was that we had already spent 2 months getting the right software combination with good security and speed at the same time. Wecouldn't wait any longer before launching the server in production. With cPanel's Apache + Suexec + Fcgid we found xCache versin 3.0.1 to crash regularly leaving core dumps everywhere. Maybe we should have deactivated the usage of variables to see if it was more stable.

xCache 3.1.0 is out with PHP 5.5 support. Is it possible to update it in EeasyApache?

Thanks.
