Restrict SMTP authentication like Gmail

Gmail has a useful feature where is disallows logging in from a new location without verification. This helps prevent spam being sent from multiple IPs in one go as is common in misused address spam attacks. Would be great if something like this could be implemented. Admins could have access to login and allow a new IP or range for a user if actually travelling.
