How to change values command_timeout and connect_timeout in EXIM?

On April 1st, 2015 at 07:38 AM created the Support Request Id 6323389 with the following description:

--------------------------------

In the EXIM documentation http://www.exim.org/exim-html-current/doc/html/spec_html/ch-the_smtp_transport.html found the following explanation:

command_timeout Use: smtp Type: time Default: 5m

This sets a timeout for receiving a response to an SMTP command that has been sent out. It is also used when waiting for the initial banner line from the remote host. Its value must not be zero.

connect_timeout Use: smtp Type: time Default: 5m

This sets a timeout for the connect() function, which sets up a TCP/IP call to a remote host. A setting of zero allows the system timeout (typically several minutes) to act. To have any effect, the value of this option must be less than the system timeout. However, it has been observed that on some systems there is no system timeout, which is why the default value for this option is 5 minutes, a value recommended by RFC 1123.

1) With always, this documentation is very blah blah blah and not inform the principal: HOW TO MODIFY IT? THERE IS AN OPTION PANEL WHM OR I NEED EDIT A FILE? WHERE IS THAT FILE?

2) The documentation says: "To have any effect, the value of this option must be less than the system timeout.". How do I know what this setting on my system?

Sorry to need you again. This would not be necessary if the documentation were improved.

-----------------------

Today, having gone through 5 analysts, said they did not know how to resolve this this, and may be need to DEVELOP this feature.

I still think the biggest problem is that the EXIM documentation does not explain clearly, nor have enough examples or to support staff understand how to apply all available options.

My English is not very good, and if at any time you need explanations acidionais will be at your disposal to solve this problem as soon as possible.

Waiting for a solution

Marcos
