Disable auto-load of Webmail under Paper Lantern theme
Open Discussion
Paper Lantern seems to have lost the ability that allows you to disable the auto-loading of the default selected mail client, would be nice to have some way to disable this while still using the nice theme that is Paper Lantern.
What problem would this solve for you?

Something to keep in mind is that more options are available in the fly-out menu in the top nav than on that index page.

As a web hoster this won't solve my problem but it's something for the client side. As some clients do have shared mailboxes and each user may have their specific preference on which mail client to use, it becomes a hassle for them to log into the default selected then change to their prefered client.

I'm running a web hosting business and I'm getting complaints from customers & resellers about the inability to disable auto load. I appreciate you can switch via the user menu, but customers are annoyed that they can enable a feature but never disable it. A simple "disable auto load" would resolve this. Please cPanel add this.

There is another use-case: when customers accidentally enable auto-load with a time set too low, it auto-loads before anything can be done to stop it. There are some tips floating around online that talks about how to just hit back in your browser and then hit disable auto-load, which I have not personally tested yet.
If a customer complains to us that auto-load is annoying them, we can suggest this "hit back, disable" tip to them, but if they can't do it we need a way so that we can do it for them behind the scenes (a cPanel entry for per-email address and per-cPanel account control would be very helpful).

Was a solution for this issue ever found? I have the same problem of Paper Lantern (CPanel) auto-loading SquirrelMail with no way to disable it. While I understand it's easy to switch between Horde, RoundCube, and SquirrelMail, I prefer to have the default screen that initially gives the user a choice of which to load on each login. Frustrating that I can't undo the simple mistake of clicking on "Set as Default" instead of clicking on SquirrelMail.

Just had this come up with a customer... they cannot figure out how to stop the auto load of RoundCube. Did a Google search to see what the solution is... and found this thread. :-) Voted.
