When moving clients from their old hosting provider to their new providers via cpmove they are not automatically added the the backup system such as a user that is added by creating their site on the server.
Default backup setting for new or transferred accounts
Completed
I am currently transferring hundreds of accounts between cPanel/WHM servers and was told the new accounts on the new server have no default backup settings associated with them. This requires I manually adjust the backup settings for each and every new account. This is a lot of needless work.
It would make sense to have any new or transferred account adopt the 'default' server backup settings. Imaging not knowing this and assuming the backups were enabled when the client is hacked and you realize ...oops....no backups were being generated.
I take it this applies to the New backup system as the older legacy backups never displayed this issue, from my memory at least.
v58 is now in CURRENT, and this is now resolved. Let me know if you have any questions, and definitely submit a ticket if you aren't seeing the desired behavior!

Yes, This is important feature request.
I'm currently handling this by writing few lines inside "/scripts/postwwwacct" to modify /var/cpanel/users/mynewuser to use my required backup.
Thanks

Yes, this is really important, and should be fixed ASAP.
Migrated accounts or accounts restored from cpmove/backup archive, should have backup enabled by default or we should have an option to choose what will be default backup setting for new as well as for migrated accounts or accounts restored from cpmove/backup archive.
With current implementation migrated accounts from another server that didn't have new backup system enabled will end up with backup disabled on new server, and this can be easily overlooked and we will end up with some accounts without backups.

THIS IS CRUCIAL !
Having admins spent their precious time on dummy data entry work,
like checking if a reseller of dozens has moved in new clients and
if they are protected or not, sounds an immediate need.
Add a checkbox [x] enable backups (preferably prechecked by default)
on cpmove restoration page.

+1 for this. We have to update everything manually. This should be auto-adjusted after migration.
Please fix this.

Yep, I second this.
The cpmove files should be automatically added to the pool of backup files. And what about servers when remote backups are in place, with no retention of files? it should be immediately queued and uploaded to whatever remote place you have specified.

This is resolved with a change in v58: any account that is created on a system that has the new backup system will have backups enabled in their user file. In the event that either backup system is enabled, the user will now automatically be backed up.
I'm going to adjust this request to Pre-Release as the code for it is part of cPanel & WHM v58 which we're hoping to see in CURRENT as early as Monday.
