Allow chksrvd to support service names with periods

As a server administrator I would like cPanel to add support to chkservd for service file names that include periods to allow me to more easily differentiate between services that I monitor.
I like this idea 
cPanel, WebHost Manager and WHM are registered trademarks of cPanel, L.L.C. for providing its computer software that facilitates the management and configuration of Internet web servers.
A specific example of when this would be needed: Installing the most recent version of PostgreSQL from the official yum repo creates a service named postgresql-9.6 - which includes a period.
